Being the big pretender in my business got me no where

By John Wallen

Like almost everyone who gets into a home business, I wasted more then a couple of years pretending to run a business. Spending money, and was busy as all heck staying organized. I knew all about the compensation plan, and sat in on all the training calls.

I had all I was suppose to do completed. I was not going to fail. But the money didn't come in like it was suppose to. Every network marketer does this same thing when they start out. They spend way to much money-time in the infrastructure their going to use to make a bazillion sales.

Nice office equipment, a new headset for their phone, an 800 number, fancy new business cards, and 100's of brochures and info packets to hand out. Yet, all that really matters is getting that 1st sale. Until that happens, everything else is just wasted energy.

So many people that get into this industry always think, get organized this is the way business is done, they are wrong. Most all fail. The ones that realize business is done in the order of market and sell instead of organize, will always come out the winners.

Unfortunately, many people are scared of the idea of marketing or selling. It conjures up images of arm-twisting and manipulation, followed by rejection. Selling can be the most rewarding process in the world when both sides feel like they've come out winners.

What really works for me and hasn't failed me to this day is, the pull approach. You position yourself as the expert so you can be of value, instead of the pushy peddler. No one likes the pushy peddler anyway.

When you put yourself in this position, and put this strategy to work, new prospects will be eager to use your services, buy your products, join your opportunity. This will be automatic instead of the revolving door of trying to sell people. They will sell themselves and see you as a value instead of pushy. - 16928
