Why Rich People Have Big Libraries

By Rob Walcher D.C.

Do Rich People and Poor People think Differently?

Have you come to the conclusion that now is the time for you to up the ante and play with the big dogs making the real money that would change your life? You are probably sick of earning the simple paycheck that takes you week to week without having any extra left over to do the stuff you really want to do. You are desperate to turn things around for yourself!

If you were able to nod in agreement with any of the statements above then before you continue there are a few questions you need to ask yourself.

If you want to become a millionaire (that's fairly wealthy, wouldn't you say), how do millionaires act? If you want to become a big earner, how do big earners think? If you want to be rich, what is it that differentiates the rich from the poor?

Your answers to all three are probably similar.

Millionaires live in big houses and buy luxury cars. Big earners think about how much money they have to spend and where they're going on their next cruise. Rich are different from poor because they have more money. Wrong, wrong and wrong! You Will Never Join the Rich if You Never Know the Rich Let's take this questioning a step further. If you wanted to be a corporate executive, wouldn't you need to know what corporate executives do and what it is that works best for them? If you wanted to be a sky diver, wouldn't it be in your best interest to find out what successful sky divers do and what works for them? If you wanted to ski double-black diamond slopes, will you just head for the slopes one day and jump in with the veterans? Am I making my point?

All of these answers and ways of thinking are wrong!

If you can't beat them, join them

Let's begin by taking the cue from our title: Wealthy people invest in self-improvement of mind and spirit. Poor people invest in things like big-screen TVs. See how it works? Here are a few more.

The point is that being wealthy or rich is a way of life too and it is in your best interest to learn the ropes from people who are already there. By knowing wealthy people and seeing the ins and outs of what makes them stay rich you will be able to learn a lot about how rich people think.

Wealthy people step out of the pack; they are not afraid to work independently. Poor people have a herd mentality; they watch a lot of TV and let the world do their thinking for them.

Back to the adage about libraries and televisions... What this means is that wealthy people are investing not only in material possessions but possessions that make them wealthy in mind and spirit and the betterment of both as well. While others poor in mind, would waste all their money on a big screen television which would steal their motivation and time. Here are a few more examples of the differences between rich and poor.

The rich are wiling and able to take risks that don't involve a guarantee (like a paycheck) They can take these risks because they don't feel intimidated by the rest of the world, whereas many poor people feel the world is out to get them. Wealthy people pioneer their own trail. They don't mind thinking on their own or thinking differently from the mainstream. Poor people generally derive their views from the media or let other people tell them how to think. Wealthy people aren't afraid of bumps in the road because they are solution minded. Poor people crumble at the first sign of trouble unable to make decisions and revert to their self pity attitude. Wealthy people aren't intimidated by extra zeroes in their income level. Poor people think in smaller increments wanting just enough to get by. Wealthy people are decisive and efficient in their decisions. They make decisions based on their future desires. Poor people procrastinate and are waiting for external forces to tell them the right time to move ahead on the road to success.

If you saw yourself in any of the above scenarios then it is time to revamp your thinking and get busy creating your future. Wasting time is not an option.

By living through the words of philosopher Jim Rohn who says

"We all have two choices: We can make a living or we can design a life." It is obvious which choice wealthy people choose?

Now is the time to design your life. - 16928
