Today, many of us get movie rentals all the time. Normally they wait for the DVD to come out, in preference to watching films at the movie theaters. Here is a short list of some of the most popular DVD rentals in October 2008.

THE LAZARUS PROJECT: One time crook Ben Garvey seems to have gotten his act together. With a loving family, and a job that pays the bills, things are pretty darn good. Then, he gets fired from his job, and reverts to his old life of crime. The heist is a complete failure, and he winds up on death row. He expects the lethal injection to kill him. Incredibly, he now finds himself in a psychiatric ward. He now struggles for his sanity, and his spritual well being.
LINEWATCH: Michael Dixon (Cuba Gooding Jr.) is a respected boarder agent in New Mexico, and life seems to be good. But Michael's past is about to catch up with him. A long time ago, he was in a viscious L.A. gang, that he somehow got away from. When a bad twist of fate gives away his location to his old gang leader, his family is put in grave danger. He must risk his future, and work with the gang to get a huge illegal drug delivery across the border.
THE INCREDIBLE HULK: This movie is about Dr. Bruce Banner (Edward Norton), who is now, due to a military accident, has become the Incredible Hulk. This film is a story about the comic character the Hulk. Edward Norton, Tim Roth, William hurt, all have roles in this film. Louis Leterrier directed this movie. The film genre is sci-fi/action.

JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH: On a mission to discover what happened to his brother, professor Trevor Anderson explores caves in Iceland that sends him into the depths of our planet. This is another version of the 1959 production, which was based on the classic work by celbrated writer Jules Verne. This sci-fi adventure stars Brendan Fraser, and Anita Briem.
THE HAPPENING: Elliot Moore, with his wife and many other frightened people are leaving Philadelphia by train. Their city has been thrown into chaos. People have been afflicted by an unusual force, and are taking their own lives. Can mankind find the solution, or are we approaching the finish of man on this planet?
IRON MAN: Weapons developer, business mogal, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is captured by insurgent fighters in Afghanastan. They demand him to create weapon systems for the insurgent group. He was hurt when his convoy was attacked, and has shrapnel stuck in his chest. To overcome his wound, and make his get away, he designs a suit of armor, that makes him super strong. Iron Man, a new super hero has arrived.
SPEED RACER: An anime-cartoon evolves. Much like the movie The Flinstones, Speed Racer turns a cartoon into a feature film with actors. Speed Racer is a young man who loves racing. His goal is to win The Crucible, a major rally car race that had taken the life of his older brother. Against the odds, and his families business at stake, he suprisingly teams up with his enemy of the past, Racer X, in a last ditch effort to give himself a chance to win, and save the family business. - 16928
