Is Affiliate Marketing Myth or Reality?

By Joseph Micum

Do a search for ways to make money from home. Notice all the places that show up with claims of ridiculous wealth through affiliate marketing? Can any of this be real, or is it just a bunch of hype?

Sadly, a large percentage of online information about affiliate marketing is inaccurate. Earnings are overstated while topics like budget and time requirements never seem to be properly explained. It's a shame, because money can be made on the internet if one learns how online business really operates.

The main requirement for success on the internet is knowledge. Instant income is probably not going to happen for most people. Attaining a consistent flow of money will only happen after some basic skills are learned.

What kind of time frame is reasonable? There are a lot of variables to consider, but one should expect to wait at least a couple of months before any money starts coming in.

If this sounds like too much time to invest in learning some essential skills, then affiliate marketing won't work for you. All you'll end up doing is wasting a lot of money buying products which don't deliver on their outrageous claims. You'll get frustrated and quit before you accomplish anything.

The good news is that if you're the type of person who is willing to learn new stuff, you will be able to make money online. It won't cost you anything, either, as long as you know how to search the internet for free information.

What kind of money can the average person make online? Again, results vary on how much work you're prepared to do, but there are people who make six figures per year and more. However, these are exceptional examples of talented and dedicated individuals. Most people would be fortunate to earn more than ten thousand dollars or so in their first year.

A novice should think of affiliate marketing as a learning process that will take some time and effort. Money can be made only after acquiring knowledge. Anticipating overnight riches will never lead to success. - 16928
