Perhaps you have heard all the buzz lately about the term 'My Story Marketing'. Many want to know what it is and whether it can possibly help their business. We all have our own personal story and for some of us it could be a very compelling one at that. However, if no one ever hears our story, then it will definitely not have any impact on our business.
So how do we get our unique story out there for all to see? The main avenue for doing this is through the social network marketing scene. Some of the more popular ones are Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, MySpace and Squidoo. Each of these has different features, but they all put their emphasis on communication between people.
They all contain a section where you can enter pertinent information about yourself. Many people fail to utilize this properly. They might just enter a notation about where they live or what they do for a living but they tell the reader very little about themselves. This is their chance to tell their story and connect with others. This is the opportunity to draw people in.
If you have your own website, mention it and state that you are the creator of it. Make sure you tell them something interesting about yourself. This might be a little challenging for a young person, but even they have had many unique things happen to them. Certainly, an older person can shine here because they will have so many exciting stories to choose from.
Whether you are young or old, make sure you talk about a major problem that you faced. Go into some detail about this. Perhaps at one time, you were on the verge of declaring bankruptcy. Explain how desperate you were to find a way out. Don't be afraid to be personal. You want people to relate to you on a deep level. Now that you have their undivided attention, go ahead and tell them about the solution. A good phrase to use is "all that changed when...." Here you explain your business opportunity and how it turned your life around.
This brings you to the final stage of 'My Story Marketing' and that is the call to action. It is at this crucial stage where many people fail. For some reason or other, they are not comfortable about asking for what they want. We have to remember that people can say either 'yes' or 'no'. With that being the case, we have a 50% chance of getting what we want, if we ask. So what should we be asking for....we should be directing them to click on the link that will take them to our website or landing page, so that they can receive additional information. One word of caution here...make sure that you comply with the regulations of the social media sites regarding the manner in which you show your website address.
Even though 'My Story Marketing' is not a get-rich-quick scheme, it is extremely powerful. You are in the business of building relationships with people who will trust, respect and like you. This doesn't happen overnight. However, riches can still be yours if you develop your story properly. A friend of mine has developed a following of many thousands of people over recent years. Recently, in a message to them, he mentioned an opportunity that he thought they might be interested in. Within a week he had earned himself at least $40,000.00 in affiliate commissions.
Obviously, my friend would not have had this success if he had not developed these relationships with all these people. He did this through 'My Story Marketing'. He told his unique story and he connected on a deep level with them. This is something we can all do. In fact, this is something that we all must do, if we want to stand out from everyone else in the crowd and if we want to be part of the 5% of those internet marketers who are extremely successful. - 16928
